Manual tracking
Fleetiqo vs Spreadsheets
A spreadsheet cannot read your Turo confirmation emails. Every booking, payout and customer detail arrives as manual data entry — which is exactly the work that stops scaling somewhere around the fifth vehicle.
What Fleetiqo is
Fleet management for people who rent their vehicles out. It reads your Turo confirmation emails from any inbox you connect, turns them into bookings, revenue and customer records, and combines them with the costs Turo cannot see — finance, insurance, maintenance, cleaning — to give you true profit per vehicle. One flat price of $49/month, unlimited vehicles.
What Spreadsheets is
Google Sheets or Excel, usually one tab per vehicle plus a summary tab, updated by hand from Turo emails and bank statements.
The difference that actually matters
Almost every fleet we see started in a spreadsheet, and for the first car or two that is the correct decision. The problems start when the fleet grows faster than the discipline required to keep the sheet current.
The failure mode is always the same: the sheet is accurate for the first few months, then a busy week goes by without updating it, then a second one, and by the time anyone reconciles it against the bank account the numbers no longer agree. Per-vehicle profitability — the one number that tells you which car to sell — is the first thing to become unreliable.
Capability by capability
Reviewed against published vendor documentation in September 2026.
| Capability | Fleetiqo | Spreadsheets | Edge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Getting Turo bookings into the system | Connect any inbox once. Fleetiqo reads the Turo confirmation emails and creates the booking, revenue and customer record automatically. | Manual copy-paste from each email, per booking. | Fleetiqo |
| Per-vehicle profitability | Calculated continuously from synced revenue and logged expenses, per vehicle and per period. | Possible, but only as accurate as the last time someone updated it. | Fleetiqo |
| Cost | Paid subscription. | Free with an account you already have. | Spreadsheets |
| Flexibility of layout | Structured records — vehicles, rentals, customers, expenses. | Anything you can express in a grid. | Spreadsheets |
| GPS tracking | Live map, geofencing, speed alerts and route history with a Fleetiqo GPS device. | Not possible. | Fleetiqo |
| Rental agreements and digital signatures | Templated agreements, signed from any device, stored against the rental. | Separate tool, filed separately. | Fleetiqo |
| Taking direct bookings | Built-in booking website with Stripe payments, so you can rent outside Turo. | Not possible. | Fleetiqo |
| Working from your phone | Native iOS app with push notifications for new bookings and alerts. | Spreadsheet apps work on a phone, but editing a wide sheet on one is miserable. | Fleetiqo |
| Letting a co-host help without seeing everything | Per-vehicle permissions, viewer or editor, financial data restrictable. | Share the file, or do not. There is no middle setting. | Fleetiqo |
When Spreadsheets is the better choice
One or two cars, a single operator, and no intention of growing. A spreadsheet costs nothing and you already know how to use it.
- A spreadsheet is free and Fleetiqo is not. If your fleet is one car, the maths may genuinely favour the spreadsheet.
- Spreadsheets bend to any workflow. Fleetiqo has opinions about what a vehicle, a rental and an expense are, and if your operation does not fit those shapes you will feel it.
- You can export from Fleetiqo at any time, but a spreadsheet has no vendor between you and your data at all.
Questions
- Can I import my existing spreadsheet?
- Yes. Vehicles and past rentals can be imported so you are not starting from an empty dashboard, and your historical revenue stays intact for year-on-year comparisons.
- What happens to my data if I stop paying?
- You can export your records before cancelling. Fleetiqo does not hold your fleet history hostage — see the Security page for how retention and deletion work.
