Email providers integration
Gmail, Outlook, iCloud and generic IMAP — the connection that makes Turo sync work, requested with read-only scopes.
The email connection is the foundation the Turo sync sits on, and it is the one people scrutinise hardest, correctly.
Google is requested with gmail.readonly and Microsoft with Mail.Read. Neither permits sending, modifying or deleting mail. Microsoft access originally requested Mail.ReadWrite and was deliberately reduced to read-only.
If granting access to a personal mailbox is more than you want to do, create a dedicated address, forward Turo mail to it, and connect that instead.
What it does
- Gmail and Google Workspace via Google OAuth
- Outlook and Microsoft 365 via Microsoft OAuth
- iCloud and other IMAP providers via an app-specific password
- Access revocable from your provider’s account settings, independently of Fleetiqo
What it does not do
- Fleetiqo cannot send email from your mailbox. Transactional mail to your own customers uses SMTP credentials you supply separately.
- Only messages identified as Turo notifications are processed and stored. Other mail is ignored.
Before you start
- • A mailbox receiving your Turo emails
- • For IMAP providers, an app-specific password
How to connect it
- 1
Open email settings
Go to the email connection section in the dashboard.
- 2
Choose your provider
Gmail and Outlook use OAuth. iCloud and other providers use IMAP with an app-specific password.
- 3
Grant read access
Approve the read-only scope at your provider. Nothing else is requested.
- 4
Verify the sync
The first scan picks up existing Turo emails; new ones arrive automatically.
