The Case for Airport Delivery
Travelers arriving at an airport and looking for a car are the most conversion-ready customers on Turo. They have a confirmed trip, they need ground transportation, and if they're searching Turo at the airport it's because they've already decided they want a peer-to-peer rental. Being visible in those searches — by offering delivery within a reasonable radius of the airport — puts you in front of this high-intent audience. Premium pricing is also more justifiable for airport delivery: $20–$35 delivery fee is standard and guests pay it readily for the convenience.
The Operational Reality of Airport Delivery
Airport delivery takes time. Drive to the airport (potentially through traffic), hand off the car, get back. Then repeat at pickup. Depending on distance, this can be 1–2 hours of your time per trip for a roundtrip delivery + pickup. At $25/delivery, you're earning about $12–$25/hour for that time. Is that a good use of your time? Depends on your situation. If you're near the airport and trips are frequent, the math is fine. If you're 45 minutes away, you're grinding for minimal extra compensation.
Neighborhood Pickup: Simpler But More Limited
Neighborhood pickup — guests come to you, in your local area — is operationally easier. Less driving, more predictable timing, no airport parking hassle. The tradeoff is a smaller potential guest pool. Local renters exist, but they're a smaller segment than the airport traveler market. If your listing is in a desirable neighborhood near tourist attractions or popular areas, neighborhood pickup can work well. In a suburban residential area far from anything, it's harder.

Many successful hosts offer both: a lower base price for neighborhood pickup and a delivery fee for airport delivery. They get the broad audience from airport visibility with the premium that offsets the effort. Some hosts also partner with nearby parking facilities to set up an unstaffed pickup location that's airport-adjacent — closer to airport convenience without the full delivery effort.

The right answer depends heavily on your market. In a city with a major international airport (Miami, LAX, Orlando), airport delivery access is a significant revenue driver and worth the effort. In a mid-sized city with a regional airport and mostly local rental demand, neighborhood pickup may work just as well with less friction.
